Mother,Wife, Nurse.
Born June 18, 1928 in Grand Tracadie, PEI.

….
Kind and compassionate is a perfect description of Anna. She
was the youngest of 10 children born to Joseph and Mary Jane (Minnie
Watts) MacKinnon. Growing up in Grand Tracadie during the Depression
left a deep impact on Anna, who never lost the lessons of sharing and
helping those in need. In her professional life Anna graduated from
Prince of Wales College and received her RN from the Charlottetown
School of Nursing, Class of 1952. Anna took great pride in her nursing
vocation and worked for over 30 years at the Charlottetown Hospital,
Charlottetown Clinic and P.E.I. Addictions, often as head
nurse.
Anna is predeceased by her husband Aubin Paquet and son
Kevin. She had five children, Debbie (Ron) Jeffrey, Kevin (Johanne
Delaney), Joe (Nancy Somers), Laurie (Janette Wakelin) and Nora Lee
(Dale Geldart).
Anna was decades ahead of her time as a woman who managed
home, full time career and family effortlessly. She never hesitated to
speak her mind in the defense of others and was a great mother and
role model to her children. Anna stayed energetic and healthy well
into her 80s. She could be seen daily walking the perimeter of
Charlottetown, head held high. Anna was a happy woman who laughed
often and easy. That laughter was contagious and made her a pleasure
to be around. Always happiest when she could enjoy a laugh and a game
of cards with her friends, rye in hand.
Anna is also survived by her 10 much-loved grandchildren,
Joseph Jeffrey, Erin Jeffrey, Michael Jeffrey, Katie Jeffrey, Ryan
Paquet, Ashley Paquet Rossiter, Chad Paquet, Cory Paquet, Cardace
Geldart and Christie Geldart. She has 13 great-grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews, one niece in particular, Norma Williams, was as
dear and close to Anna as her own children.
Anna led a full life, rich in faith and filled with purpose,
always there with a fresh pan of biscuits to a friend or stranger in
need. Her family meant everything to her. Her kindness, wisdom, keen
wit and beautiful smile will be sadly missed.
A special thanks to the staff at Beach Grove who lovingly
cared for Anna.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral
Home. No visitation per Anna’s request.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Most Holy
Redeemer on Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. Interment later in St.
Michael’s Parish Cemetery, Corran Ban.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Anna Norma Paquet nee MacKinnon 19282018.source
