Born December 13, 1934 in Vancouver, BC. Died peacefully at home on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (née Morley) in 2006 and is survived by his children Laura (Mike Sullivan), Chris (Taunia Curtis) and Lisa (Eric Henderson). He is the beloved grandfather to Cameron, Meghan, Shannon, Ryan, Emily and Ian.
Al graduated from the University of British Columbia in Mechanical Engineering. He studied in England as an Athlone Fellow and received his PhD in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Toronto. A career scientist, his passion was aeronautics, including work on the Avro Arrow project, teaching at Auburn University, and flight research at the National Research Council until his retirement. Al had a sharp wit and he enjoyed old movies, chess and a good game of bridge. He was still creating computer programs until his final days.

Funeral service to be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 1230 Bank Street, on Thursday August 16th at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.
Al’s children and grandchildren were his greatest pride.
