Obituary
Miller, Sara Helen
With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of our dear daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt and niece, Sara. She was gifted to us for only 32 years. She was the light of our lives. Her beautiful smile and sunny disposition uplifted everyone she met. She was a positive people person who loved the challenge of creating with words, dance and acting on stage or in film. She loved nature; a love that developed growing up outside Winnipeg, MB in a forest of Basswood trees. She was delighted to wake up every morning to the view of beautiful English Bay in Vancouver and nothing made her happier than hiking in the mountains with her friends. Nearby Stanley Park and Bowen Island were her special places. Sara completed the Film Studies program at Ryerson and attended University of Toronto. Her special interests were psychology, philosophy and spiritual connections. Sara was an avid yoga practioner and travelled to India to study the teaching of yoga. She enjoyed her yoga students and made it a goal of every class to not only assist with poses but to uplift everyone’s mood. Anytime spent with Sara was a joy as she radiated happiness and positive energy. Sara was predeceased by her grandmother Hilda Miller in 1992 and her father Arthur Miller in 1997. She is survived by her mother Donna Kuppers, stepdad Bruce Kuppers; brothers Michael Plunkett of Chatham, Ontario and Patrick (Lynne) Plunkett and nephew Seamus Plunkett of Winnipeg, Manitoba; niece Jane Bradbury and great nieces Elle and Linnaea Mook of Austin, Texas; grandparents Inez and Irvine Striemer of Winnipeg, MB; “sister” Amy Striemer, “niece” Eloise Fleury and “nephew” Oskar Fleury of Montreal, Quebec; “sister” Kate Zimmerman of Toronto; “brother” Mark Striemer and “nieces” Zoe and Lily Striemer of Winnipeg; aunts Helen Cockshutt of London, Ontario, Simone Mrdjenovich of Vancouver and Brenda Vendereau of Hendersonville, North Carolina; uncles Robert (Jocelyne) Streimer of Winnipeg, Len (Helen) Miller of Saskatoon, Erwin (Neva) Miller of Wolsley, Saskatchewan and Lorne (Diane) Miller of Bruderheim, Alberta and numerous cousins and friends across Canada and abroad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Sara loved animals, cared deeply about the environment and volunteered her time supporting underprivileged girls. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in London, Ontario. The family greatly appreciates the help of Sara’s friends and extended family in Vancouver and the help and support of Detective Raymond Payette of Vancouver.
