It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandpa and friend “Mickey”.
Left to mourn are his wife, Estelle; daughter, Deanna (Jonathan) Burgart; grandchildren, Donovan (Amanda) and great-granddaughter Elaina, Moira and Sean; brothers, Gerald (Judy) and Randy (Sheila) Niven; as well as many family members and friends.
Mickey grew up on a farm near Camrose, Alberta which instilled a strong work ethic that influenced his daughter and grandchildren. His remarkable career in the oil and gas industry took him to Kuwait, Singapore and across Alberta. His true loves were his wife, his daughter and grandchildren and his hobbies. Mickey loved wood working and fixing anything and everything he could. Many years were spent rejuvenating at the cabin he built himself near Plamondon, AB.
Throughout his life, he loved fishing, golf and spending time with friends and family. Mickey’s unique sense of humour, sparkling smile and colourful expressions will be remembered with love. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help a neighbor and friend.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 13 Brower Drive, Sherwood Park, AB.
Special thanks to the ICU and staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Milton Niven Maiden Ltd of Sherwood Park
