Born in Menzie, MB on August 14, 1929, Zenon Drul of Edmonton, AB, passed away on July 4, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Zenon will be remembered by his five daughters, Sylvia (Tom), Darlene (Henry), Patricia (Tom), Kathy (Ken) and Beverly (DJ); fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Alex in Yorkton, SK, and Ernest in Rossburn, MB. Predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen in 1973; second wife, Rose in 2014; and step-daughter, Cindy in 2012. From 1948 – 1949, Zenon taught school in the Swan River, MB area. In 1950, he worked at the CN Shop in Transcona, MB and worked at Imperial Oil for 32 years until his early retirement. He loved to travel, going to Singapore and Hawaii, and loved camping in his early years. He spent many winters in Phoenix, AZ. He was very involved with St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Parish Men’s Club and the Esso Annuitant Retiree Club, and volunteered at the Hardisty Nursing Home after Rose’s passing. Zenon will be deeply missed. Funeral Rite Monday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 9831 – 75 Street, with Reverend Father Yuriy Suchevan officiating. Interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg, MB.
