Little Bras d’Or
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family announce the passing of Wilma (Sis) Vickers, age 88, at her home on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
Born in Little Bras d’Or on July 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Viola (Young) Stapleton.
Sis was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Bras d’Or.
She loved cards and Scrabble, and was always eager for a game of either. She was a well-known baker and seamstress. She loved gardening, and feeding the birds – the simple things in life.
She will be sadly missed by daughters Joanne Semaan, and Lori (Glenn) Leblanc; sons Hal(Virginia), Art (Alanna), Andy (Debbie), John (Claudette); grandchildren Pierre and Timothy Semaan, Mallory and Mark Leblanc, Timmy (Heather), Jody (Cora), Melanie (Aaron), Holly Vickers, Amanda, and Jennifer; 6 great-grandsons, Jordan, Brendon, AJ, Reagan, Jayden, and Brody; 3 great-granddaughters, Marley, Abigale, and Adrianna; special cousin Ruth (Young) Boudreau; and the children of the late Eddie and Mary Stapleton.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harold, brother Eddie, and sister-in-law Mary, as well as children Timothy and Valerie in infancy.
Visitation for Wilma Vickers will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Sunday, September 24, 2017, from 2-4 &7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place Monday, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr.
