Wilma Jean Goodbrandson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Wilma Goodbrandson on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Selkirk General Hospital.
Mom was predeceased by her husband John, her son Jack, her parents Colin and Ethel Leask, her brother Keith, and her sisters Christina and Gladys.
Mom will be greatly missed by her daughter Joy (Ted) and her son Ron (Diane); daughter-in-law Holly; grandchildren Dori (Darrell), Nicole (Bryan), John, Becky (Gerry), Jeff (Danielle), Kevin (Jill) and great grandchildren Jace, Danika, Alycia, Torie, Bailey, Brooklyn, Claire and Ronan; her sister Evelyn and her brother Alan (Jean) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom loved to travel, with good friends and relatives she has visited many different locations but her favourite destination was always Hawaii.
Mom loved life. She met all life’s challenges with such a positive attitude and never complained. She enjoyed and appreciated her many friendships but her greatest joy was her family. Mom supported all of her family and loved sharing time with each of us in our activities, celebrating achievements and simply giving us her unconditional love.
Mom was a member of the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Church Woman’s group and a member of PEO Chapter G.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care that Mom received.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lunch to follow at the Gilbart’s Funeral Home reception room. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date in the Selkirk Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom’s memory can be made to the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of one’s choice.
