Surrounded by her husband, Clint Arnold, family members and friends, Sherri WIllie died on December 1, 2016 at Leduc Hospital. Sherri was born in Saskatoon on September 8, 1964. She attended Boughton and King George elementary schools and graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate. She struck out on her own after completing high school, first living in London, England for a year, then university in Waterloo, Ontario. After 8 years in southern Ontario, she moved home briefly before moving to Edmonton. She met the love of her life, Clint Arnold, and the family was completed 10 years ago when they became parents to their beautiful daughter, Kennedy.
Sherri enjoyed physical exercise with squash, racquetball and tennis being indoor favorites, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and taking long walks on a daily basis. She continued her love for walking by engaging family and friends on the One Walk to Conquer Cancer in Calgary this past June.
Sherri could be counted on to entertain us with her retelling of life experiences which often poked fun at herself. On the days prior to her death, family and friends reminisced with Sherri about some of her most memorable antics. As youngest child in the family, she was close with many of her nephews and nieces who were nearer to her age than some of her siblings. She was Sherri-Berry and willingly sat at the “kids’ table” by popular demand at family events long after she qualified to sit with the adults.
Sherri will be remembered for the passion and love she had for family and friends. She made lasting friendships wherever she went which was so evident during her struggle with cancer and the many friends and neighbors who rallied around to support Sherri, Clint and Kennedy.
Sherri will be remembered always by her husband, Clint Arnold; daughter, Kennedy; mother, Shirley Willie (Hodgson); sisters Gail (Harold) Watt, Diane (Don) Cote; brothers Rick (Cindy) and Gregg (Debbie) Willie; father and mother-in-law, Morley and Verna Arnold; sisters-in-law Kirsten and Perri Arnold; along with all of her nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to count. Sherri was predeceased by her father, Roy WIllie.
The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Leduc Hospital who did everything in their power to make Sherri comfortable and to the compassion they showed to us as a family.
The funeral will be held at Daystar Church, 3610 Gaetz Road (corner of Gaetz Road and Rollyview Road), Leduc, AB on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
Donations can be made to Leduc Community Hospital, 4210 – 48 Street, Leduc, AB T9E 5Z3, or the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
