William R. Ongenae
Bill passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the age of 85 years at the Betel Home in Selkirk, MB.
He leaves to mourn his common-law wife of 40 years, Mary; his sons, Al, Marcel and Barry and his daughter Caroline and their families; step-daughters, Sherry and Jodi and step-son Kevin and their families. Bill also leaves 2 sisters Nicki and Annie and his brother Frank and their families in the Netherlands. Bill was predeceased by his parents in Holland.
He was born in Geleen, Holland on September 24, 1931 and moved to Canada in 1952. Bill started his own business, Parkdale Construction LTD in Parkdale, MB, he moved to Selkirk, MB in 1976 and worked until 2004 when he had a stroke and went blind. Bill spent the last 5 years at Betel Home.
Sincere thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff that cared for him at the Betel Personal Care Home.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe be made in Bill’s memory to a charity of your choice.
