Obituary for William John LeBlanc
LeBlanc, William John “Bill” – 62, Truro, passed away November 26, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born July 13, 1955 in Truro, he was a son of the late Raymond and Pearl (Smith) LeBlanc. Bill presently was employed with Tandus Centiva formerly Crossley Carpet Mills Ltd for 38 years. In his younger years he was a member of the Air Cadets, speaking often of his experience with plane gliding. He was an active member of Connection Wesleyan Church where he faithfully served God and community. Bill was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all. An avid traveler, he was always up for visiting new destinations with family during holidays. One of his pastimes was following his favorite sports team, the Toronto Maple Leafs of which he knew many statistical and historical facts. He liked going to vintage car shows and knew many makes and models. Bill is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sharon (Baillie); daughter, Andrea (Geremy) Richards, Halifax; son, Brent, at home; sisters, Joanne (Bruce MacEachern), Halifax, Sherri (Perry) Richard, Lower Harmony, Betty Joy, Vancouver, BC, Michele (John Totten), Brule Point; a niece and four nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Pearl (Smith) LeBlanc, father Raymond LeBlanc; his maternal grandparents, John and Ruth (Mattatall) Smith, New Glasgow; his paternal grandparents, William and Lucy LeBlanc, Dieppe. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29 from 6-7:30 pm and Thursday, November 30 from 2:30 pm until time of the funeral service at 3:30 pm all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Ken Banks officiating assisted by Rev. Lisa Gervais. Reception to follow the service with interment at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Pictou County. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS or a charity of choice.
