Walter « Busy » H. G. Middleton passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Walter was born on March 25, 1934 in Dartmouth and was a life long resident of the community. He is survived by his wife Edna (Pearce), son David and daughter Margie (James) Roache, granddaughter Nicole (Adam) Hamilton grandson Dylan (Ashley Potter) Roache and great grandson Nathan Hamilton, and sister Fay Parker and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by mother and father Louise (Lou) and James (Jim). Brothers James « Snook », John « Bubbles », sister Jane and grandson Adam Roache. Walter worked for 24 years as a Boilermaker at the Halifax Shipyards and 21 years at the Halifax Dockyard. He was a proud member of the Brotherhood of Boilermakers of Canada and for many years served as a Shop Steward. Walter was a good family man who truly enjoyed being a big part of his grandchildren’s lives. He enjoyed anytime he spent hunting and fishing with friends in Sheet Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation will be held at the Atlantic Funeral Homes, Dartmouth Chapel on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 7-9pm; from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2pm. Interment to take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
