Walter Bruder With deep love, the family of Walter Bruder announce he began Eternal Life on June 4, 2016, at the age of 88. Born January 27, 1928. Predeceased by his wife, Mary Bruder (Fritz) (2002), his son, Joseph (1983), sister Gladys Bruder (1937), brother George Bruder (2010) and sister, Edna Kelly (2015). Cherished father of Janice McDonald (Len) of Brantford and Christine Regier (Rick) of Kitchener. A loving grandfather to Rebecca, Nyssa (Cheyenne), Brian, Adam (Anne), Ryan, Meghan, Shaina, Zachary and Isaac. Walter loved to drive. He worked for Wilke Movers Ltd. (United Van Lines) from 1953 to 1988. During his retirement he generously gave of his time to drive people to church, to the Toronto airport and to various appointments. For many years, he enjoyed driving cars for dealers and chauffeuring his grandchildren around. Walter always knew the best route to travel and the length of time to get there! Walter was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Parish for 54 years. He was an usher, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Polish Legion and a participant of the Cursillo movement. The family thanks the Fritz family for all their love and support. We are also deeply grateful to Dad’s buddies Wilbert Sommers, Bill Mikol, Glen Thompson, Hank Gregory, Laurie Green and Cliff Dickinson whose friendship brightened our Dad’s days, and the many nurses, PSWs (especially Brendan and Brian) and doctors who took care of Dad at Grand River Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Fergus Place and Doon Village Retirement Residence. The family will receive friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519-749-8467) on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m with parish prayers at 3:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 11 Traynor Ave., Kitchener on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11a.m. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. Please join us following the ceremony to share memories and stories of Walter at the Polish Legion, 601 Wellington St. N., Kitchener.
