Obituary of Volkmar Hanske
HANSKE, Volkmar (Mark) Guenter – Born December 8th, 1925 and passed away December 23rd, 2016 at the PRHC after a courageous battle with cancer. Employed in the tool room at CGE in Peterborough for 28 years. Mark is survived by Ilse, his wife of 68 years. Beloved father of Werner (Gisela), Marita, George (deceased) and Raimund (Lore). Grandfather of Janine and Ryan (Jen), Kristy Gorny and James Gorny (deceased). Grandfather and great grandfather to several other family members in Canada and Germany. Mark was a caring and loving person who always viewed the glass as “half full”. Expressions of sympathy can be directed to www.CommunityAlternative.ca. Memorial donations on Mark’s behalf can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care staff @ the PRHC and Dr. Beamish for their care and kindness. A celebration of life will occur in the summer of 2017 and be announced in the Peterborough This Week at a later date.
