Obituary Peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family our mother passed away on August, 6th, 2016 at the age of 91 years in her suite at Citadel Care Centre in St Albert. She is survived by her children: Guy (Linda), Louise (Wayne), Michel (Marianne), Colette (Bob), Celine (Bryan), Bernie (Diana) and Daughter in Law Tora-Lea. Therese was blessed with 16 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren who loved and knew her well. She is also survived by her two sisters; Jeanne and Simone and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving Husband, Bernard, her son Jacques, and her brother Father Paul Labelle. Therese Bourgeois (nee Labelle) lived in St Albert her entire life, daughter of Pioneering parents who owned and operated a butcher shop where she worked with her father, just north of the Sturgeon River on Perron Street. Therese took pride in her major accomplishment of raising a large family, giving guidance and love and providing an example as a hardworking, supportive and positive role model to all her children and grandchildren. After raising her children, she became a successful Realtor in St Albert, retiring at the age of 65. Even in her final years she remembered all her colleagues and clients with affection and pride. Mom, loved to play Bridge with friends, read, knit, and do petit point. As she aged, the hobbies that she loved became more difficult and eventually impossible. Yet, in true form, she accepted her fate with the same positive attitude that prevailed her entire life, even when it was difficult. The family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Citadel Mews and Citadel Care Centre for their loving care and their true friendship to our mom. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Albert Parish, 7 St Vital Avenue, St Albert, Alberta at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 19th, 2016. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Lung Association, Alzheimer’s Society, or the MS Society.
