Obituary It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our Mother, Theresa Marie Lee (nee Tunney) in Edmonton. Mom was pre deceased by her husband Alexander Frederick Lee on October 5, 2010; as well as her parents, Moses Frederick Tunney and Mary Ellen « Nell » Tunney and her twelve siblings – Mary Catherine Ann « Kay » Reeves (Ed), Leona Tunney, Patricia Lee (Hugh), Eileen Whitehead (Chum), Margaret Douglas (Eric), Drake Tunney (Rhea), Hugh Tunney, Leo Tunney (Ellen), Norman Tunney (Marj), Francis Tunney, Helen Tunney and Eugene Tunney. Theresa also leaves behind brother in laws Ted Lee (Mary) and Hugh Lee and sister in law Ellen Tunney. Theresa is survived by her six children; Nancy (William), Alexander (Chris), Theresa(Rick), Robert, Webster (Helen), Timothy (Angi); Grandchildren, Alexander (Sherri), Amy (Shawn), Elizabeth (Ivan), Matthew (NIchole), David (Jenna), Adam, Maggie, Hanna, Chris and Colin, Tanya, Joshua and Brie; Great Grandchildren, Aidan, Brendan, Lilly, Sylas, Saydie and William. Mom was born on November 17, 1925 in Orillia Ontario where she was raised in a very busy, happy and musical family. Mom lived with sister Kay and husband Ed in Gravenhurst, Ontario in her teen years who were like second parents to her. Mom was faith filled from early on and had a very kind and caring heart. She loved going to dances, singing, sports and just enjoying life. Theresa won awards for bowling and curling and had a particular love for hockey, her beloved Maple Leafs and watching her grandchildren grow with the game at every chance. She was also an avid reader and passed on her love of reading to her kids. Theresa met Alex Lee in Gravenhurst through one of her brothers and they began dating. The war took Dad overseas and Mom decided to joint the Air Force and was shipped to Calgary for two years. Upon Alex’s return at the end of the war they were married and moved to Kirkland Lake where they resided for most of their lives. Mom’s dream was to raise a family and so … she got her wish. Through the years long after the children had left, Mom and Dad had plenty of our friends visit as they enjoyed their company and d many a wonderful meal at 6 Alexander Avenue. Our parents were amazing cooks, Mom was famous for her blueberry heaven, amongst others. When you met Theresa she made such a kind and lasting impression. She never forgot you in her prayers. Mom had a faithful group of friends; Ursula and John van Oosten among them. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh and her smile would light up the room. Being a grandmother meant everything to Theresa and they adored each and every one of them forever and always. Theresa served on the auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as her church, Holy Name Parish. She belonged to the prayer group and many prayers were answered. Our brother Tim and his wife Angi have taken care of our parents for fifteen years. They have been kind caregivers all this time. The family wishes to thank Dr. Zbigniew Chzanowski and the caring and compassionate nursing staff at Edmonton’s University Hospital for the care of our mother and father. We also wish to express our appreciation and thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital in Edmonton where she resided for the last couple years. Mom has left us a legacy of wisdom and teachings which embrace God, family, love, forgiveness and strength. In Mom’s words,  » no judgement » and « this too shall pass ». Love You Beautiful Lady!
