It is with great sadness that the family of Athanasios (Tamy) Nathanail announces his passing on February 18, 2016 at the age of 80 years old. He went suddenly but peacefully surrounded by his family, whom he cherished with all his heart, and who cherished him. Tamy will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Giota of 46 years, and his children, Sophie (Jason), Bill (Karen), Maria (Reed), Dina (Brandon), and his nine grandchildren, each a shining light in his life; Riley, Jacob, Jessica, Athena, Petra, Ixander, Matthew, Blaikley, and Isabella, as well as his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Tamy was born in Thesaloniki, Greece on February 13, 1936 and grew up in Kavala. He later immigrated to Canada in 1959. He was a passionate artist of sketches, oil paintings, and watercolour that he created with tremendous talent. Tamy was a man who placed great emphasis on family and took great pride in his children and their accomplishments. He eagerly awaited Sunday suppers and special occasions to a full house of grandchildren running and playing, a supper table filled with way too much food, and often followed by a heated family game of horse races, inevitably splitting his winnings with his grandchildren. The memories of his infections laugh that filled the house will be with us forever. He will be dearly missed, may his memory be eternal. Prayers will be held at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Tamy Nathanail February 13, 1936 – February 18, 2016.source
