Obituary
Grateful for her life of service, the Sisters of Providence announce that Sister Patricia Nadorozny, SP (Sister Blanche) died peacefully in the Infirmary at Providence Centre, Edmonton on May 13, 2017 at the age of 85. Born in Retlaw, AB in 1931, Sister Patricia entered the Sisters of Providence in 1950 and taught school in northern Alberta and in Cluny. She later worked in pastoral ministry on the Tsuut’tina Reserve and in inner-city Calgary. Sister leaves to mourn her loss the members of her religious community, the Sisters of Providence, her nieces Patricia Di Pietrantonio, Martha Stouffer, Louise Hamelin, Suzanne Nuttall and her nephews Peter and Robert Nadorozny and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ferne Nadorozny and her brother Bill. The Sisters of Providence appreciate the loving care given to Sister Patricia by the nursing staff at Providence Centre and the messages of condolence received from friends and former coworkers. In lieu of flowers, donations to the works of the Sisters of Providence are welcome.
Prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18th at Providence Centre Chapel 3005 – 119 Street NW, Edmonton and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Len Gartner on Friday, May 19th at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Sisters of Providence cemetery in Calgary.
