Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Sister Aurore Henley of St. Albert on August 24, 2016 at the age of 97 years.
Sister Henley was born in Lafond, Alberta on November 14, 1918. She was the sixth child of a family of nine children. Her father was Joseph Henley and her mother was Wilhelmine Robinson. She joined the Grey Nuns in St. Albert in February, 1938.
She served generously as cook for twenty-three years. She was known to decorate cakes in the most beautiful fashion. She also became an excellent seamstress and made beautiful crafts for bazaars. She went on to become an accountant and sacristan.
She served in Northern Saskatchewan, and Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton, St. Paul and Legal).
She leaves to cherish her memory, her Grey Nun Sisters; her sister, Claire; and many nephews and nieces who loved her dearly.
The Grey Nuns express their deep gratitude to the nursing staff at Youville Home, St. Albert for their dedicated and compassionate care throughout Sister Henley’s stay.
