The death occurred at Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Thursday,
February 23, 2017 of Shirley Ruth (Adams) MacKay of Alberton, aged 87,
beloved wife of J. Melvin MacKay. Born in Carleton, Lot 6 on January
16, 1930, daughter of the late James A. & Ruth E. (Cornish)
Adams.
Dear mother to Garth (Liane) MacKay, Kensington. Loving
grandmother to Colin MacKay, Summerside.
Shirley is also survived by her brother Ernest (Myra) Adams,
Elmsdale; sister-in-law Gladys (late Ralph) Betts, Glenwood;
brothers-in-law James (Mary Ann) MacKay, Yuma, Arizona and Lloyd
MacKay, Charlottetown.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, sisters Irene
(Edward) Smith and Doris (Ralph) Duggan, infant brother William,
sisters-in-law Florence (Lloyd) Oakes, Mildred (Laurie) Balcom and
brother-in-law Harvey (Shirley) MacKay.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with
visiting hours Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Funeral on Sunday at the
Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene at 2:00p.m. Interment in the Spring in
Elmsdale United Church Cemetery.
