Obituary
On Wednesday, June 7, 2017 Shiela Miles passed away peacefully after a long, difficult and emotional battle with vasculitis. Shiela fought with remarkable courage and without a word of complaint. Family was a priority for her, which is why she enjoyed quality time during holidays and special occasions. Through golf and curling, Shiela made many cherished friends. Her competitive spirit, sense of humor, and infectious laugh made her a desired teammate, but she always remained humble. She was a City Ladies Club Champion in curling and a President of the Riverside Business Girls Golf Club.
Shiela is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Tom; mother, Lucille Bain; three sisters, Bernie (Moe) Dion, Cindy (Drake) Mason, and Susan (Ken) Bouma; one brother, Ed (Bev) Bain; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Shiela was predeceased by her infant brother, Joseph and father, Joseph Bain.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shiela’s friend, Denise Forwick-Whalley for her valued assistance, and Julie Paschke, Merle Flynn, and Linda Schuler who were her constant bedside companions during her illness.
A celebration of Shiela’s life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton. The family would like to extend an invitation to family or friends who wish to a memory of Shiela during the celebration.
In memory of Shiela, and in lieu of floral tributes, the family would like donations to go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Shiela Miles.source
