With deep regret, the family announces the sudden passing of Sammy Bitner on June 9, 2016. Sammy will be dearly missed by his wife of 17 years, Margaret; mother, Marion; sisters, Kathi (Don) and Robbi; nephews, Todd and Darcy (Amanda); niece, Kelly (Jonathan); faithful dog, Suzi Q; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Sam Sr. (2016); and canine companion, Ziggi. Sam retired from McGavins several years ago and he and Margaret were enjoying their retirement dream: dividing time between a lake property near Barrhead and a home in Mexico. Sammy will always be remembered for his love of family, pets and home, his quick wit, dry humour, and good heart. Sammy will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held.
