Sam Hugh Acorn 1947-2016 At the Hillsborough Hospital with family by his side the passing of Sam Hugh Acorn, formerly of Primrose, devoted husband of 35 years to Irene (Rice) Acorn occurred on Friday, August 5, 2016. Born in Primrose, PE, on September 26, 1947, he was the son of the late Chester and Ruth (MacDonald) Acorn. Sam is survived by his loving children Emmett (Petra) Acorn and Betty-Anne Acorn; two cherished grandchildren Aryanna and Landon Acorn; brothers and sisters John (Janet) Acorn, Laura Dixon, Kathryn Acorn, Warren (Bev) Acorn; sister-in-law Verna Acorn; brothers-in-law Peter Rice and Aeneas Johnston; numerous nieces and nephews. Sam was predeceased by brother Jimmy, infant brother David and brother-in-law Claude. Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Sunday, August 7, 2016, from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral Service to take place on Monday, August 8, at 10:30 am from the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place in the Acorn Cemetery, Dundas. Family flowers only, donations to the IWK or the Acorn Cemetery would be appreciated. Do to severe allergies please refrain from wearing any scented products.
