Ruth P. Duffy
Ruth P. Duffy, 90, of Monarch Hall, Riverview and formerly of
Moncton and St. Stephen, NB, passed away peacefully at The Moncton
Hospital on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, with her brother at her
side.
Born in Milltown, she was the daughter of the late George and
Azelie (Maillet) Casey. Early in her career, Ruth spent time with the
Sisters of Charity of Saint John, NB. She retired as a
School Teacher having taught in Saint John for ten years, Vancouver,
Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam for 13 years. She attended St.
Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the
CWL.
Ruth will be sadly missed by her brother, Joseph Casey of
Moncton; nephew, John Edgerly and niece, Laurayne Phalen (Mike), both
of Sutter Creek, California; as well as nieces to the third generation
and numerous cousins on the Casey and Maillet sides.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Fred Duffy (1989) and sisters, Rita Edgerly and Anna
Casey.
A memorial mass for Ruth will be held at St.
Stephen’s Parish, 407 Milltown Blvd., St. Stephen, NB. On
Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Paul Doucet
officiating. Reception following the Mass. Interment will be in
Milltown Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton
(858-1995) in care of arrangements.
