HETHERINGTON, Ruth Elaine (nee. Cameron) – It is with sadness that we announce the passing of “Ruthie” on Sat August 08, 2015 at the Niagara Falls Hospital in her 79th year. Beloved wife to Robert Hetherington for 58 years. Cherished mother to Sue Ellen (Martin) Fletcher, Barbara Jean (Jim) DesChamps, Lynn Taylor, Peter (Terry-Lynn) Hetherington, Joy Elaine (Mike) Popadinac. Special Grandma to Rachel and Kevin Fletcher, Jennifer (Matt) Dell, Joshua, Stefanie and Jordan DesChamps, Adam Taylor, Shaun Hetherington, Tasha (Mark) Van Dun, and Alexandra and Drew Popadinac. Great Grandma to Andrew Hetherington. She will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Ruth is predeceased by her parents Robert “Old Goat” and Margaret “Maggie” Cameron and sisters Peggy Milk and Joyce Mandeville. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to Dr. I. Malcolm and the entire staff in the ICU at Greater Niagara General Hospital, and the caring, compassionate staff at Cavendish Manor. In keeping with Ruth’s wishes cremation has taken place. Her family will receive guests at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (entrance off Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy #20) 905-892-1699 on Thursday August 13th from 11:00 am – 1:00pm. A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society will be appreciated by her family.
