Royden (Stomper) Lester Piercy
Royden L. Piercy of Harvey, NB passed away on January 22, 2017 at the
Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Royden was born in 1935 at York Mills,
NB, a son of the late Roy and Olive (Embleton) Piercy.
Royden was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a great friend
to many. He was involved in the construction of the Mactaquac Dam and
other projects. He was employed at St. Anne Nackawic Pulp Mill for
over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. Royden enjoyed listening
to country music and any work involving using his tractor.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Fraser) Piercy; his children, Gwen
Hood (Danny), Edmonton, AB, Cheri Prieur (Moe) and Mark Piercy
(Sharon), both of Vancouver, BC; three grandchildren, Jonathan Hood,
Jaimie Marchand (Brett), both of Edmonton, AB and Samantha Perks
(Mike), Vancouver, BC; four great grandchildren, Jordan, Brody,
Dominic and Nora; a sister, Jeanette Messer, Harvey, NB; a
sister-in-law, Doris Piercy, Fredericton, NB; several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter,
Heather Hood; a brother, Eugene Piercy and a brother-in-law, Alfred
Messer.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3,
Harvey station, NB on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 12 noon until 2
pm, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm from the funeral home
chapel with Rev. George Clark officiating. Interment will be later at
Acton Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Royden, the family
has suggested the Acton Cemetery or charity of the donor’s
choice.
