Obituary for Ronald Gilbert Hodge
Ronald Hodge, beloved husband of Marie Hodge, of Calgary passed away peacefully on June 30, 2017 at 7:15pm at the age of 79 years. Beside his loving wife, Ronald is survived by his daughter, Jennifer and granddaughter Isabella, his brother Stanley Hodge(Wife Joanne), and his sister Shirley Spekkens(husband William). Also his nieces Cynthia and Becky, his nephews Robert, Timothy and Peter, his great nephews Nathaniel and Aden, all of Ontario. Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Alice Hodge. Ronald was born on January 14, 1938 in Montreal, Quebec and in 1965 met wife Marie and they were married at St. Monica’s Church on August 06, 1966. While living in Montreal they travelled to Prince Edward Island, Niagara Falls, New York City, Ottawa, Quebec City and all along the eastern seaboard to Florida. After 13 years of marriage in Montreal, they were transferred to Calgary, AB in 1979. Ronald was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing football, hockey, skating, skiing, swimming, tennis and loved following the progress of the Calgary Stampeders and Calgary Flames. He also had fun going to Stage West Dinner Theatre and the Talisman Centre and walking at Fish Creek Provincial Park where he met many interesting people. He was strong, kind, generous and very warm hearted and will be greatly missed by all with whom he came in contact. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Church (1600 Acadia Dr SE) on Wednesday, July 05, 2017 at 1:30pm. Graveside service to follow at Edenbrook Memorial Gardens.
