On Saturday, June 24, 2017, I lost my husband and best friend, Bob White. He stood 6”3” tall with blue eyes. He was a big man and when he walked into a room, you knew he was there.
He was a good husband, father and provider to myself and our daughter.
He will be missed by many good friends and neighbors.
Our 2 cats Shadow and Gabriel will also miss him.
Bob loved anything to do with airplanes. My father Charles Vaillancourt was a flight lieutenant and bomber pilot in WWII. He flew a Halifax plane and was a prisoner of war in Sagan, Germany.
He helped to dig and was a lookout in the great escape. As you can imagine, Bob and dad had some great conversations together!
He had diplomas in the following fields;
Electronics and video tape recorder program – George Brown College, Toronto, ON. Jan. 6, 1984
Tractor trailer driver program – Training centers of Canada, June 25, 1999
Municipal administration and assessment – Fanshawe College, London, ON. Feb. 24, 2000
Bob worked building houses, at Detour Mine, Beal Taxi, and Custom Concrete (Northern Division).
He loved playing guitar and especially driving around in his red Dodge Ram sport truck.
He is survived by his wife Heather, daughter Jessica, sister Carol Dubien (Gerry), brother Donny White (Monica) and brother-in-law Jim Vaillancourt.
Also survived by his nephew Derick, nieces Danielle, Dawn-Marie and Kim.
Predeceased by his parents June and Garth White.
A very special thank you to Dr. Vaithilingam and staff, Dr. Parmar and staff, Dr. Lang, Dr. Voogjarv, and to all of our friends and neighbors for the flowers, cards, food and hugs.
There will be no visitation and funeral. A family dinner is being planned to celebrate his life.
By for now. All my love,
Heather
