Roy, Renald (1935 -2017)
The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Son of the late Lionel Roy and of the late Maria (née Miron) Roy. Loving husband for 58 years to Jeannette (née Beaudoin) Roy of Sturgeon Falls. Dear father of Carol Durie (Joseph), Huguette Pilon (Mike), Sylvie Miron all of Sturgeon Falls and of Robert (Flo) of Angus. Renald will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Keven, Eric, Danielle, Guy, Pascal, Patrick, Christopher, Michelle and André. “Pappi” to 9 great grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers Gilles (Jackie) of North Bay, Cléo (Jeannine) of Barrie and by his sisters Hélène Landry (Lucien), Monique Savage (Jean) both of Sturgeon Falls, Sylvia Storey (late Bill) of Shawville and Estelle Peloquin of Sudbury, and remembered by many sisters and brothers in-laws. Predeceased by his siblings Armande Pellerin (Roland of Azilda), Marcel (late Huguette), Yvon and Gérald (Denise of Montréal). During his professional career, Renald was assistant to the Solicitor General of Canada. He was also a community minded person active in numerous groups and organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, the Club Calumet, the Outdoors Club. The family will receive friends at the Théoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls, Saturday, December 16, 2017 after 1 pm. A celebration of Renald’s life will follow at 3pm. at the funeral home. A heartfelt thank you to the outstanding staff at the West Nipissing General Hospital and to Dr. André Béhamdouni for the excellent care provided to Renald and his family. Donations to the Lung Association or to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated.
