Regis Richard
2017-2017
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Regis Richard 74, of
Saint-Louis-de-Kent passed away at his home on Saturday, April 22,
2017. Born in St. Ignace, he was the son of the late Alfred
Richard and late Imelda (Thebeau) Richard. Regis moved to
the United States with his family at the age of 17. Before retiring
and returning to New Brunswick, Regis was a teacher for several years
in Massachusetts, where he also volunteered with the Peace Corps,
Habitat for Humanity and other community groups. He was a minor hockey
trainer and was a very good hockey player himself back in his days. He
loved the sport and rarely missed a Montreal Canadiens
game.
Regis will be sadly missed by his wife, Francine Babineau of
St. Louis; two daughters, Donna Richard of St. Louis, Michelle Alton
(Paul) of New Hampshire; one son, Maurice Richard (Iona) of
Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Anise, Chelsea, Tomas,
Jessica, Ian, Renée, Camilla, Abigail and two great
grandchildren, Kyran and Atlas.
He is also survived by two sisters, Yvette Richard of Quebec,
Yvonne Richard (Lorenzo) of California; four brothers, France (Marge),
Gilles (Anna), Serge (Barbara), Danny (Roberta) all of Massachusetts
and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Regis was predeceased by one infant
brother.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Friday 2-4 & 7-9, Saturday at 9:00 am
until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 am, St. Ignace
de Loyola Roman Catholic in St. Ignace. In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Tree of Hope would be appreciated by the family.
