Dallas, beloved wife of Len Chapple, passed away peacefully at home in Brentwood Bay on December 14th, 2017, following a valiant fight with cancer. Her dazzling smile and fabulous style will be remembered forever by her adoring family and myriad friends and colleagues. Dallas was born to renowned Vancouver bandleader Dal Richards and his wife singer Lorraine McAllister on November 18th, 1951. She was raised in Vancouver, graduated with honours from UBC, moved to Paris to study at the Sorbonne, and did her doctorate at the University of Paris before returning to Canada to work at CBC’s corporate headquarters in Ottawa, where she and Len became engaged. They moved to Toronto where Dallas became a very successful Mary Kay distributor and proudly drove the four pink Cadillacs she was awarded. She and Len were married in 1981, and after stops in Calgary and Seattle, they moved to Victoria in 1990. Dallas was an award-winning realtor with Remax for 26 years, and served on the Board of the Victoria Symphony and BC Children’s Hospital, and was a member of the Victoria Executive Management Club and Rotary Club of Oak Bay.

Dallas will be greatly missed by her aunts Peggy, Sheila and Ann, cousins Darcy, Wendy, Corey, Tom and Nancy, step-mother Muriel, her neighbours in Port Royale and many dear friends from around the world who have helped her on her journey – with special thanks to the Pearl Girls.

A Celebration of Life and Love will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2017,  at 2 pm in the Sequoia Centre, at McCall Gardens 4665 Falaise Drive, in Victoria BC.

In lieu of flowers donations to Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation (sphf.ca) or to the Oak Bay Rotary Foundation (oakbayroataryfoundation.org) would be greatly appreciated.

So sorry for your loss Len and family. Dallas was an amazing lady. She had an infectious smile. I remember the day I met her in the 1990’s – she came to Remax Ports West. She will be missed greatly and I know she is celebrating in Heaven now. No more pain. Praying for peace for you all.
