Olfert, Peter Abe Olfert, age 71, of Swift Current passed away Tuesday July 4, 2017 at the Meadows. The Memorial Service was held at 1:30 pm, Monday, July 10, 2017 from Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Reymundo Asis officiating. Music was provided by Christ the Redeemer Church Choir. A Life Tribute was given by Gary Olfert. The Readers for service were Floyd Knippshild and Joe Knippshild. Peter is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughter Cindy, Son Curtis, Granddaughter Jaylan, Grandson Josh, sisters Tina Miller, Helen (Pete) Schlamp. Sister-in-law Kathy Olfert, half-sister Gladys Olfert; a special great niece Amanda Janzen and great great nieces Cassidy McKenzie and Gabi. Also Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Floyd (Pat) Knippshild; sisters-in-law Lorraine Robichaud and Tami Knippshild. He was predeceased by his mother Tina (Krahn); father Jacob; sisters Susan and Mary; brothers Jake and George; nieces Susan, Vera, and Glori; nephews Kenneth and Dwayne; brother-in-law Otto Miller and sister-in-law Helen Olfert. Peter was born on May 2, 1946 in Swift Current, Sk. He attended school in Rhineland and married Phyllis Knippshild on July 13, 1968. Peter worked for numerous trucking companies and had his own Roofing and Tree Cutting Service. When he sold his business he retired to trucking until 2004 when he fully retired due to illness. Peter loved to have coffee with his friends, golfing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back just for a little while, then we could sit down and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very much and always will do too the fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again.
