Haddad, Peter Kenneth
1931 – 2017
Peter Haddad, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Samuel and Gertrude (Pettipas) Haddad.
He worked for Butternut/Eastern bakeries for 35 years before retiring in 92. He continued to stay in touch with many friends there through the retirement committee. While working there, he was instrumental in forming the union and was president for many years. He previously worked for the city of Moncton and the Sudbury mines. In his younger years, he was a scout master and proud hockey dad. He was a talented pool and crib player, an avid woodworker, and was a fervent Montreal Canadians fan. He became a member of the Knights of Columbus where he had many good and faithful friends. Peter was a devoted catholic and ushered at St Bernard’s church.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Noella, sons Peter (Bonnie), James (Vicky), Mike (Rob DeWolfe); grandchildren Natasha, Kraig, Kayla, Ryan; sister Sr. Mary Noella of Peterborough and brother-in-law Camille Hebert. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his devoted wife Helen (Hebert); brothers Wilfred, Joe, Dave, Charlie, Eddie, and sister Selma.
In keeping with Peter and the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan 18th, at St. Bernards church, 43 Botsford St. at 11:00 am with a reception to follow in the basement.
Special thanks go to the staff of 4200, 3400, and Palliative. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the St. Bernard’s building fund.
