1933-2017
Perley E. Marshall, 83, of Elgin passed away
Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Sussex Health Centre.
Born on Gowland Mountain, he was the son of the
late Blake and Wilda (Harrison) Marshall. He was a retired
farmer and sugar bush operator. Perley was a member of the
Third Elgin Baptist Church (Hillside United Baptist Church), and an
active member of the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department for many
years.
He is survived by his wife Elsie (Steeves);
step-son Peter Voutour (Rhonda), Colpitts Settlement; sister Alma
Steeves, Elgin; brother Otto, Elgin; sisters-in-law Judy Marshall,
Salisbury and Susan Coleman (John), Elgin and several nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by sister Edna Lewis and brothers James, Arthur,
Guy, Cecil and Harry.
Thanks to family, friends and special neighbours
who helped in every way possible. Thank you to Dr. Allaby
and nurses of Sussex Health Centre. Your kindness was
special.
Resting at Armstrong’s Funeral Chapel, 33 Russell
Street (756-3361) visiting will be Thursday, January 12 from 12 noon
until time of funeral at 1 pm with Rev. Delbert Bannister
officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery at a later
date.
If desired, memorials to a charity of choice would
be appreciated by the family.
