Obituary of Pauline D’Alton
Pauline D’Alton born in Skerries, Co. Dublin died August 28th at her home in Waterloo with her family.
Beloved wife of Louis Joseph D’Alton (deceased). Devoted sister to Alice, Nessie (deceased) and Mary (deceased) of Dublin Ireland.
Loving mother to Mary, Alice (Brian), Claire, Louis, Mathias (deceased). Adoring grandmother to Mark, Louis, Sean and proud aunt of nieces and nephews in Ireland and Alberta, whom she held dear in her heart.
Pauline grew up surrounded by family in the town of Skerries on the east coast of Ireland, north of Dublin. She often told her family it was the idyllic place for a child to grow up. Fishing , boating and swimming in the sea, running in the fields and enjoying all the dances and parties that celebrated life. Mom loved to dance Strangely however the love of her life, Louis, had two left feet. However, he did enjoy a party and tended to make one wherever the two of them might find themselves. Mom and dad danced through all the joy and pain that life would bring, always managing to find some good in whatever might happen. That dance would include emigrating to Canada and starting a new life in their adopted land. Through it all Pauline and Louis maintained their love and commitment and raised a family who were blessed to learn those values from their parents. Louis passed over 12 years ago and Pauline soldiered on caring for her family and enjoying her friends, children and grandchildren even as her life became more challenging. Her rest finally came in the early hours of August 28th. Somewhere on the other side the party has begun, the band is playing and Louis is reaching out his hand to take his love for another dance, God help her feet!
