Paul, Arun It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arun Kumar Paul at the Lakeshore General Hospital on May 4th, 2016. Born in Lahore, India on December 31st, 1928, Arun is survived by Barbara (Frehner), his wife of 55 years, daughter Rita, son Robert, daughter-in-law Lynda, and Liam – his grandson whom he loved so much. It was while studying at the University of Leeds in England to become a Chartered Accountant that Arun met Barbara. Several years later the two of them moved to India where they got married, had a family, and for five years enjoyed their life in Kumardhubi. In 1966, wanting a better future for his two young children, Arun set off to Canada to find a job and a home, bringing his family over a few months later. Arun worked as an auditor at Canron for several years before accepting a position with CAE in 1974 as the Corporate Comptroller, a position he held for nearly 20 years until he retired. Arun, always a kind and gentle soul with a love for oil painting; a devotion to his roses; and a fondness for a good joke, was passionate about his family and always put their needs before his. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Memorial donations can be made to Volunteer West Island for the Caring Paws Animal Therapy program– a non-profit cause in which Arun very much believed. The family would like to give special thanks to Pramela and everyone at Alps Residence, who helped bring joy to Arun during his final few weeks. For that we are especially grateful. May 6, 2016
