Obituary of Pablo Liong
It is with great sadness that the family of Pablo Liong announces his passing after a brief sickness on Sunday October 29, 2017 at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Pablo finished his Bachelor of Accounting in University of San Jose-Recoletos Cebu City in the Philippines. He then married Leocadia Liong on June 28, 1981.
In Cebu, Pablo was the assistant to the owner of SMDI (motorcycle distributor), part of Music Ministry in Charismatic Group, an extraordinary Lay Minister, as well as a member of the Speakers Bureau of Basic Ecclesiastic Community (BEC).
Pablo arrived in Canada on June 8, 2015 and enjoyed being a part of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in Grande Prairie and was a Eucharistic Server. In his spare time, he also enjoyed reading, playing music, gardening, crafts, cooking and carpentry.
Pablo will be lovingly remembered by his wife Leocadia Liong, children Ellaine Rose Liong (Priyankara), Donna Marie Liong (Brandon), Paul Vincent Liong (Margueax) Clint Lorentzen (Jingle), grandchildren Chlenzy, Quindall, Franzen, Johanan, Hansi, Kenzi, Abigail, siblings Flor Gore (Donald), Felissa Legaspina (Salvador), Leonila Al Ammari (Yousif), nieces and nephews Kim, Bobby, Tata, Boboy, Lovely, Marriane, Genesis, Christine, John and Grace.
He is predeceased by his parents Coga and Floria, step-father Avito and grandchildren Xyrisse and Queonie.
A prayer service will be held for Palbo Liong at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 Street) on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at 8:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (10404 102 Street). Pablo will be laid to rest following the Funeral Mass at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (11101 84 Avenue).
