WALE, Norman J Born July 5, 1923 and died peacefully May 30, 2016, at his home, Norfolk Manor, surrounded by his loved ones and supported wonderfully by the staff there. Before coming to Canada, Norman was a WW II veteran. As a member of the Scottish Royal Highlanders regiment, he was a radio signalman involved in many tours including the D-Day invasion. During the war he was in many faraway places such as Northern Africa, Sicily, Italy, Germany and France. He had many harrowing tales which he loved to share with others. He had a quick wit and enjoyed making others laugh with his ready puns. He was a quiet even tempered man who loved classical music and opera. If there was a baby in the vicinity, he could be found making faces and entertaining the young one. He will be missed. He is survived by his children Naomi Wale, Dominic Wale (Julie Knox), grandchildren Chelsea, Luke, Jasmine, Hilary, Gavin and Owen and great grandchildren Khadejah, Keyshawn, Layla and Cash. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031). If desired, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. We invite you to leave your memories and donations online at: www.gilchristchapel.com
