FERGUSON, Nancy Anne Louise In her 87th year, at Humber River Regional Hospital on July 23rd, 2016. Nancy was born October 23,1929 in Weston, Ontario to James and Doris “Sally” Ferguson. A warm, caring and fun-loving woman, she was a second mother to the many children in her life, across generations. She is predeceased by her sister Doris Johnston, brother-in-law Donald Hope, niece Kathy Johnston, and survived by sister Louise Hope and brother-in-law William Johnston. Beloved Aunt to David Hope (Dianne), Katherine Hope, Janet Hope (Peter Heys), and Jim Johnston (Marie). Great-Aunt to Kofi (Lisa), Melika, Gabriel, Kaelan, Janik, Adelka, Madeline and Nicholas. Great-great-Aunt to Samira. Graduate of Wellesley School of Nursing and Western University. She enriched the lives of her many friends, as well as the children and families she cared for in her years as a nurse and head-nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children. She was a life-long member of Westminster United Church until its recent closure, where she led the hand-bell choir. She spent happy summers at her cottage in Fenelon Falls where she swam, gardened, and befriended many. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will take place at Central United Church, 1 King Street, Weston at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to Weston King Neighbourhood Centre or the Sick Kids Foundation.
