The death of Murray McCavour of Saint John, beloved husband
of Doreen (Maguire) McCavour occurred on Wednesday, October 12, 2016
at Parkland Saint John. Born on September 25, 1923 in West
Saint John, he was the son of the late S. Perry and Elizabeth
(Ferguson) McCavour.
Murray began his career with the Canadian Pacific Railway,
where after 25 years he decided to pursue his second career as the
Executive Director of Port Development Commission with the City of
Saint John.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Doreen, Murray is also
survived by their children, Deborah Maxwell (Grant) of Grand
Bay-Westfield, Stephen McCavour (Susan) and Murray McCavour (Barbara)
all of West Saint John, Brenda Kingston (Andrew) of Millidgeville and
Kenneth McCavour (Sherri) of Lorneville; sister, Eileen Ellis of Saint
John; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 4
great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and
nephews. Besides his parents, Murray was also predeceased by
his sister, Doris Allen and brother, Robert McCavour.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral
Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424) with visiting on
Friday, October 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral
service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday,
October 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in
Lorneville Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer
Society of NB, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
