Smith, Muriel Mildred – Age 90, of Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 18, 2017 at Dykeland Lodge Nursing Home, Windsor. Born in Walton, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Mattie (Skaling) Burgess. Muriel is survived by son, Ernest (Sharon); sister, Irene McCulloch; grandchildren, Dr. Heather Smith, Ashley Smith and Joshua Smith. Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by daughter, Sandra Smith; sisters, Inez Light and Kathleen Scott. Cremation has taken place. She was a proud part of our country’s « greatest » generation. No matter the situations of life they soldered on. To her and all of her time we thank you. Personally she was strong, honest, and will be truly missed by those who knew her well. The family wish to sincerely thank all the staff and care givers for their compassion and support. As per her private nature and wishes, there will be a private interment at a later date in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations in memory would be greatly appreciated to Dykeland Lodge Nursing Home, Windsor or charity of choice.
