MUNRO, DAVID JOHN – B.A, D.D.S 1928-2016 On Sunday May 8th, peacefully at the West Island Palliative Care-Vivalis. Survived by his loving wife Jackie, and adoring children Gary (Carole), Jim (Kim) of Ottawa, Jo-Ann (Bruce), and his sister Beryl Ball (Russell) as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 (almost 7) great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his parents Gladys and David Munro, wife June McDonald, and daughter Gail Binmore. Dave practiced and taught dentistry for over 40 years after graduating from McGill. He was a past president of the Montreal Dental Club, member of the College of Endodontics, and Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Dave had many interests. He was a founding member of Royalmount Kiwanis, a long-time member and past director of Summerlea Golf Club where he was a fixture in the SOFA group. He was an avid skier (latterly with Twinski) and also enjoyed cross-country skiing, biking, bowling, travelling, and was a great football fan dating back to his days as President of the Dorval Minor Football League. His family and friends will miss his quiet strength, his constant presence, and his corny jokes. Visitation from 10:30am -11:30am on May 17th at the Royal St-Lawrence Yacht Club (1350 Lakeshore Blvd, Dorval) followed by a ceremony in celebration of his life and a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the West Island Palliative Care Residence would be appreciated.
