Bonnell, Miriam Ottilia (nee Lorentz)
On Saturday, June 10, 2017, our beloved mother, Miriam, slipped quietly away into her eternal rest with God at the age of 95. She will be reunited with our father, Herbert William (1994), and together they will waltz again.
Cherished mother of Howard, Mary (Don) Crowther, Richard (Patricia), Raymond (Lucy), Brian (Louise), Donna, David (Ann) and Norman (Sherry).
Much loved grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of 17.
Dear sister of Margaret, Audrey and Gerrard (Camilla).
Miriam also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by her parents, James and Carolina Lorentz, and sisters, Sister Audrey and Dorothy.
Lovingly remembered by Sharon Bonnell, Brian Brown and Nancy Hunter.
Thank you to the Sunnyside Community Alzheimer Program for giving her countless happy hours, to her PSW’s, especially Barbara and Ann Marie, for taking such good and loving care of her, and to the 6th floor staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for treating our mom, and us, with dignity and respect and keeping her comfortable in her final days.
Miriam’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 followed by procession to St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 56 Duke St. W. for a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.
A reception will take place immediately following the Funeral Mass. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sunnyside Community Alzheimer Program, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
