Obituary O’Sullivan, Minnie Mary (nee Shwetz) January 13, 1940 – July 16, 2016 Minnie passed away, at 76 years of age, with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, Christopher Noel O’Sullivan Sr.; children, Christopher (Lisa) O’Sullivan Jr., Natalie (Dan) Visscher; grandchildren, Hayden and Sahara Visscher and Isla O’Sullivan; mother, “Tilly” Shwetz; sisters, Jean Shwetz, Viola (Randy) Jenson, Virginia (Richard) Watling, and Zoria (Phil) Rutherford; brother, Leonard (Debbie) Shwetz; as well as many relatives and friends. Minnie was brought up in Frains, AB, where she went to school and afterward to Grassland where she completed high school. Minnie completed her education at Alberta College in Edmonton, AB. She then went to work for the Department of Hwys in Edmonton where she worked for seven years. In 1966 she moved to Yellowknife, NT, where she worked for Giant Yellowknife Mines at their head office for nine years. Minnie met her husband Noel in Yellowknife, where they were married in 1970. Minnie was active for many years in sports, both curling and baseball, and she loved to watch all the major Curling and Tennis events on TV. She was also very involved in both St. Patrick’s Parish and in the community at large. She was a member of the CWL executive committee and the Arthritis Volunteer Foundation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 22, 2016, at St. Albert Parish Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Research Institution, 11560 University Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB, T6G 1Z2.
