Mrs. Maureen Elizabeth Huntrods, age 65 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Maureen was born in Toronto, Ontario on April 30, 1951 to Quintin and Florence Carsell. She worked as a Personal Support Worker with VON and Saint Elizabeth’s Nursing, until her retirement this past April. Maureen enjoyed helping people and she was passionate about her career. She was an avid gardener and loved animals, especially birds and dogs. One of her greatest joys was her grandson, Kyle and daughter, Dorothy (Dodie). Family was most important to Maureen and she will be deeply missed by all of them. Maureen is survived by her husband of 46 years, Albert; daughter Dorothy Fitzgerald (Tracy) and grandson Kyle Fitzgerald; mother Florence Carsell; twin brother Michael Carsell as well as her other siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Quintin Carsell and niece, Lisa. As per Maureen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Maureen to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
