It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother Anna Maria (Knoll) Rink who passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 with her family by her side at the age of 101. Mary was born May 17, 1915 on a farm north of Kendal, SK. She was a very social person always greeting you with a smile, and willing to help someone. Mary always enjoyed the company of her children and her grandchildren. Mary enjoyed traveling, dancing and music. Mary was able to live on her own until the age of 98. During her working career she worked at the Sherwood Co-op Cafeteria and in her own words her daily routine consisted of “I made 12 fruit pies, 4 pumpkin pies, 4 cream pies, 4 dozen bran muffins, 4 dozen tarts and in the afternoon 100 cinnamon buns.” Mary was predeceased by her husband Dominic; mother and father, Fridolin and Maria Knoll; siblings, Margaret, Henry and Barbara (died at an early age in Russia of Diphtheria), Anna Bachman (Valentine), Margaret Baumgartner (Mike), Katie Baumgartner (John), Victor Knoll (Mary Zerr), Antonia Fink (Tony), Anastasia Bleishwitz (Wendel), Elizabeth Kress (Wendel) and Wendel Knoll (Regina Kress). She leaves to mourn her children, Marlene Heimlick, Florence Tabin (Dan), Don Rink, Jerome Rink and daughter-in-law Marlene; grandchildren, Lisa (Mike Lauer), Larry Thibodeau (Sandi), Renee Thibodeau-Johner, Celeste Thibodeau, Darcy Tabin, Chauntelle (Rob Vancoughnett), Jason Rink, Danelle Rink, Christoper Rink (Courtney Wishlow), Andrew (Chelsea) Rink and Melissa Felix (Joe); twenty great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Ultimate Care Home and William Booth for all their kindness and assistance while Mary was a resident. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Charity of One’s Choice.
