Mary (Egan Rethy) Gillis
1939-2017
Peacefully with her family by her side at the Provincial
Palliative Care Centre on Thursday, September 28, 2017 of Mary (Egan
Rethy) Gillis of Charlottetown, age 78 years. Beloved wife of Clee and
dear mother of Karen MacAdam, Steve (Wendy), Sandi, Julius (Tina) and
Janice (Joey). Mary will be lovingly remembered by special
great-grandson Brandon MacAdam and special granddaughters Shannon
MacAdam, Jennifer Rethy (Brad), 11 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren, sisters Beatrice Doucette (Donnie), Betty Ann
Lovejoy (Ken), sisters-in-law Beryl Egan (Eric – deceased), Mary Egan
(Norman – deceased), brother-in-law John (Sonny) Gillis (Phyllis) and
GA Gormley (Carolyn). Also predeceased by brothers Carl (Evelyn),
sister Bertha Gormley (Frank), mother-in-law Mabel Gillis,
brother-in-law Joe Gillis, sister-in-law Muriel Pottie and first
husband Jules Rethy.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home
until Saturday morning, then transferred to The Church of the Most
Holy Redeemer for Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in
the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be
held on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
