MARLENE CATHARINE ARCHER (nee Shields) Passed away peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2016, surrounded by loving family. Beloved wife of the late Harold “Hal” Archer. Marlene was predeceased by her loving siblings Walter Shields (Iris) and Joan Rouse (Andrew). Dear aunt to Wendy Pearson (Douglas), John, James and Michael Shields, and Catharine Rouse (Craig Stait-Gardner). Proud great aunt to Jennifer and Daniel Shields. Loyal and loving friend to Diane Berry and Nadine Cliffe of Cobourg. Marlene loved the company of family and friends and took pride in her volunteer efforts at the Wellesley Hospital, and latterly Northumberland Hills Hospital. She will be remembered for her fun loving spirit, flair for fashion, and keen sense of decorative style. Marlene will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Bishop and the ICU nurses at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for their care, kindness and compassion. A funeral service will be held at HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7th. Interment Mt.
