Obituary for Marion Helen Pettit
Pettit; Marion Helen (nee Zavitz) – Passed Away with her family by her side at home in Oil Springs on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the age of 82. Marion was born in Dawn Township at the family farm November 19, 1934. She Attended Eddy’s Mills Elementary School and Petrolia High School. Marion worked for many years as a dietary Aid at Twilght Haven (Meadowview Villa) in Petrolia. She was predeceased by her parents Doug and Rosie Zavitz. She is mother to Debra Burkett, Mark Pettit, Peggy (Al) Leaver, Dennis (Deb) Pettit, and Jane (Dan) Haskell. Marion had eleven grandchildren, three Step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren. She was a sister to the late Sandy (Jean) Zavitz, the late Bruce (the late Mary) Zavitz, Cliff (the late Shirley) Zavitz, and the late Don (the late Jeannie) Zavitz. Marion loved to read, knit, crochet, cook, and garden. At Marions request the will be no funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to Needham-Jay Funeral Home (519) 882-0100.
