The death of Marie Roxanna (Somers) Harris widow of Lorne Harris of Sunny Corner, NB occurred at her residence on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the age of 90. Born in Matthew Settlement, NB, Marie was the daughter off the late William and Effie (Matthews) Somers. Marie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 90, Sunny Corner, NB, The Island View Senior Citizen Group and the Wesley United Church, Trout Brook, NB. Marie is survived by one daughter: Phyllis Cooke (Wayne) of Cambridge, ON; three sisters: Evelyn Moss of Sydney, NS, Gladys Savage of Lower Newcastle, NB, Rhona Kenny of Miramichi, NB; one sister-in-law: Nita Somers of Matthew Settlement, NB; one grandchild: Brianna Lee ; seven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Marie is predeceased by two sisters: Beulah Astle and Edrie Smith; seven brothers: Wilson, Herbert, Beaton, Lance, Harry, Cleveland and William and one granddaughter: Deanna Marie. Visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 12 to 1:45 PM where the Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM with Rev. Geza Szemök officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley United Church Cemetery, Trout Brook, NB. In Marie’s memory a donation may be made to the Miramichi SPCA or a memorial of one’s choice.
