Obituary It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the loss of Marie Anne Podmore (nee Sunley), beloved sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Marie was an amazing individual who filled so many roles throughout her life both professionally and personally. She was a powerhouse, sure footed and certain in her ventures but soft and vulnerable to those she was close to. Her laughter was contagious and she had a way of making people smile even in the gravest of circumstances. She loved spending time at Ma Me O Beach where she forged many friendships and generated countless memories with her family. There will forever be a void in the hearts of those who loved her, for there was and will only be one Marie. Marie left behind her husband, Roger; children, Daylene Podmore, Joe (Katrina) Podmore, Doug Podmore, Christi (Chris) Holmes; in addition to her brothers, Arthur and John Sunley. In recent years, her world revolved around her grandchildren, Elizabeth Podmore, Olivia Podmore, Grace Podmore, Georgia Podmore, Matthew Podmore, Jack Podmore and Alexander Holmes. Marie had several nieces and nephews she loved dearly including Selena Sunley, Jane Sunley, Carel Price, Michael Sunley and Greg Sunley. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Stan and Kathleen Sunley as well as her younger brother, Jim. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Grey Nuns Hospital, Units 45 and 43 as well as to Dr. Dey for their compassion and care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 8 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Basilica, 10044 – 113 Street, Edmonton, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
